| a lullaby for light :: between black and white, we find gray(ce). |
she::
give me your face, my love, give me your bones
i will cradle you in the womb of the earth
i will enrobe you with the darkest of gardens.
give me your skin, my love, give me every rippling cell, and i
will paint your portrait on the glistening orb of the sun
i will paint your eyes like eden in the spring.

| the dancing of light |
we::
let us arise! for we are brave, and shall do fierce and beautiful things.
we are luminous offerings, we are poet-prophets
tattooing secret love messages onto every buoyant, vibrant, and dazzling limb.
we are light-chasers and dark-dwellers,
moonlight revelers and warrior-dancers.
let us awake, let us arise into light!
let us mark our holy ground
with the blood of our birth, and the skins of our becoming.::
inspired by a friend ::

ReplyDeletethank you. Xoxo
Deleteso this is what you were trying to write when that person was staring at your queenly form and derailing all your trains of thought? i think you succeeded. this is beautiful. your writing always make my insides tingle with inspiration. (i don't know how else to describe it.)
ReplyDeletehaha :P i'm glad this moved you so.
Deletethis is incredibly beautiful. 'we are luminous offerings, we are poet-prophets / tattooing love messages onto every buoyant, vibrant, and dazzling limb.'

ReplyDeletewe are light-chasers and dark-dwellers,
and the end line are my favourite. Yes, I am both light chaser and dark dweller. Today I am dark dweller. Licking m wounds from the pain of friends rejection. This seems to happen once a year to me. When a few friends at once decide for various reasons that it is time to move on or that I am too much. I got called a hindu follower,a granola tribal woman and they meant it in a very negative way. I said I was tribal and that did not go over well. i got preached at with bible verses. Found lacking and sent back to the fire where I apparently am taking others. I. am. done. here. for . now. DONE. So today, I take to bed ill. I will read, I will sleep, I will be, I will hurt, I will weep.
I hope tomorrow I can once again chase the light.
i read this over my phone earlier and couldn't reply but just know i was thinking about you today. so sorry about your friend's rejection; that is always so heartwrenching, especially for one like you who just opens up her heart and pours herself out. you are a beautiful soul (and for the record, i love hindu followers and granola tribal women. i think that should be the title of your next blog post).

What beautiful tantalizing words today Rain! I especially love this "we are luminous offerings, we are poet-prophets" and this "let us mark our holy ground with the blood of our birth, and the skins of our becoming." You re-awaken me. ~xoxo
ReplyDeletei'd love to see your re-awakenings. <3 thank you, sweet sarah.
Deleteoh, and i love the word tantalizing. :-)
Delete*runs along hand in hand with you*
ReplyDeleteyes. *gentle squeeze*
DeleteOh sister, you've gone and done it. And it was well worth the effort. It is our anthem.
ReplyDelete{{hugs}} thank you for suggesting poetry instead of prose. i was worried it was too brief, but thank you. you make me beam. :D
Deleteyour words are haunting and your images peaceful. Thank you for giving them to the world.
ReplyDeletethank you so much. <3
DeleteGorgeous, dear Rain!! Absolutely wondrous! I could hug you so tight, and then we must dance, for this poem is power and light and hope. :-) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteoh yes to hugs and the dance! thank YOU, my friend. <3
DeleteI love the layout : She calls and we respond. Right off I was drawn to the response. I realize it is because I am more comfortable with action, chanting, declaring.
ReplyDeleteSo, I now softly turn and return to the lullaby sung by She. I allow Her love to pour over me, drench me clear through to dark, to deep. I do not do this enough. I spring too often into action, when love is what I need, filling is what I need, stillness is what I need.
I appreciate this rain, I shall be returning to sit in the presence of Her love song.
i'm so glad that you got that...i was worried i wasn't clear enough that this was a call and a response. may Her love drench you, saturate you and fill you today. <3
DeleteThese words are going inside my journal! I wish I could sit with you and soak in more of your wisdom and poetic words.
ReplyDeletei'm so honored that these words would go in one of your brilliantly creative journals. <3 you are so kind, my friend. i look forward to sitting and *sharing* wisdom and poetry with you some day.
Deletebeyond brilliant. Almost too heavy to carry all at once... love your style!
ReplyDeletethank you, sweet rebekah. <3
