secret messages + giveaway ::

By Mandy Steward of Messy Canvas. Available here.

It's no secret that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Messy Canvas Art.  I like to think of it as medicine for the soul. I am beyond-thrilled to share that Mandy Steward, artist and soulful creator, recently launched a stirring new offering in the form of personalized #secretmessages.

In her own words:

Think of me like a gypsy with a beauty mark and head scarves, a fortune teller of sorts minus the crystal ball but definitely with big hoop earrings, a shaman leaning in close and whispering to you the words you're most looking for, so that you can have a visual representation of them ever before you.

Using a combination of collage, markers, ink, paint, pastels, etc. I will create a unique piece of background art on which I will include the words of your #secretmessage.
Messy Canvas
How do I know the words that are right for you? Email me at mandy.steward (at) gmail.com or send me a Convo on Etsy. Include in your email, in 140 characters or less, one of these options:

A word. A phrase. A story. A question. A descriptor. A quote. Tell me what you're wishing, or you're loathing, or you're believing. What's your main passion you're trying to hone in on right now in your own life? Who are you? Who do you want to be?

If you know exactly what you want it to say then say so! Otherwise, I'll do the soul translation on your behalf.

*The pictures shown here are EXAMPLES ONLY.*

Your personalized #secretmessage will be created on a 5x5 piece of 90 lb. cold press watercolor paper and come wrapped in a cellophane envelope for safe-keeping.

But sssssssh, it's only meant for you!

May it show you that you are enough and may it empower you to step bravely into your next wild and howling adventure. May it remind you to always listen to the voice within.
Because I am passionate about soul-stirring prompts, listening to the voice within, and living our own wild and howling adventure, I want to stir your deep heart and give away one personalized Messy Canvas #secretmessage! I am privileged to own several artworks by Mandy and find myself continuously moved by them.

  5. Oh, I love your stuff. I long to create such beauty. And it's my birthday on Friday so deeply pondering all I have learned...I am almost old enough to be sage BUT everyone thinks I am youthful because of my enthusiasm. I am longing to leave behind myths I've believed from the past, let go of that which is not useful NOW and not be afraid to let it go. I am de-cluttering both literally (in my office and house) but recognizing that this de-cluttering and shedding of skin, is a spiritual endeavor. A simplifying. A de-cluttering of the soul. After which I will soar to new, beautiful heights not yet even perceived!Unhindered. Is that too many words? :) Thanks! Love these beautiful creations you share. Thank you.

  6. I hide my truest mystical, intuitive, gypsy soul, because I fear disappointing certain people by not being who I've let them think I am.

  8. I am on a self discovery journey right now....working through the things that will tell me "who I am" and "who I want to be". Three words can describe this....and they are words that I have borrowed from Rain....words that I keep going back to over and over....Breathe. Ripple. Awaken.

Thank you again Rain for your words.....and thank you for this giveaway.

  13. Don't enter me in the contest as I feel it is someone else who needs this more. BUT I wanted to participate in the dialogue and say that I LOVE this artist and admire her inspiring work.

For me my husband often says that Prophet and truth teller are my words...this tends to make me unpopular when I see things for what they are without judgement...which he also adds is the lot for prophets.
I think I would say perceptive truth teller and struggling grace giver. I lack judgement but can come across ironically like I judge. Anyone who knows my heart knows I am just giving both sides with no evil intent. I can hear someone's soul and know what they struggle with and do amazing at...this scares people because I often know before they do. In fact- I often know pregnancies before the person pregnant and can sense what is a need in a person to discover and what is not...

What I struggle with the most is my self. Depression and harshness to the odd mix that I am...the rare personality scores and such i get, the rare combinations of mental capacity. I struggle to be who I was created to be as it is a hard thing to be a truth teller and sometimes I just want to go with culture and take the easy way of masking it all and allowing others to make me what they want. Sometimes I just want peace. Truth telling is not a peaceful calling. I find that hard. I try to live it in balance and integrity with the Divine. Sigh. it's complicated...

I wish to know which direction to take. To find my truest passion, to find my dream job, to pick the right choices. There are so many things I want to learn and try out but on the other hand I know I have to focus to find what really fits me. But I can't pick one. I wish I could feel what my truest purpose is. :)
